Hot water systems
Supply, installation and replacement of gas, electric, heat pump and continuous flow systems.
Most hot water calls arrive as an emergency, but the decision behind them is not one to rush. Replacing like-for-like is quickest; changing type — storage to continuous flow, or gas to heat pump — can cut running costs significantly but has implications for gas sizing, electrical supply and where the unit can legally sit.
We will give you the honest version of that trade-off, including whether a repair will get you a few more years. If we are replacing, we handle the removal and disposal of the old unit and leave the site as we found it.
What's included
- Storage, continuous flow and heat pump systems
- Like-for-like replacement, usually same day
- Tempering valve compliance
- Old unit removal and disposal
- Repairs — elements, thermostats, valves
What drives the cost
These are the variables that make one quote different from another. Worth checking each of them against any quote you receive.
- Whether you stay with the same system type or change
- Gas line sizing if upgrading to continuous flow
- Electrical work required for a heat pump
- Where the unit sits and how hard it is to get to
