Privacy policy
Note for the client: this is a starting draft covering the Australian Privacy Principles for a small trade business. Have it reviewed before launch.
What we collect
When you use the quote form we collect your name, phone number, suburb and the details of the job — and, for renovation enquiries, your rough timeframe and budget range. If you apply for a role we collect your name, phone, email and experience. If you call or email us we will have whatever you provide in that conversation.
Why we collect it
To contact you about your enquiry, prepare a quote, carry out the work and invoice it. Budget and timeframe are collected solely so we can quote something realistic rather than wasting your time and ours.
Who we share it with
Only where we have to in order to do the job — for example a supplier delivering fixtures to your address, other trades working on your project, or our accountant. We do not sell contact details and we do not pass them to marketing companies.
How long we keep it
Job records, quotes and invoices are kept as long as tax, warranty and licensing obligations require. Enquiries that do not proceed are deleted once they are clearly not going anywhere. Unsuccessful job applications are deleted within twelve months unless you ask us to keep them on file.
Website analytics
This site records anonymous usage information — which pages are visited, which projects are read, and whether people tap the phone number — so we can tell what is useful. It is not linked to your name and we cannot identify you from it.
Photographs of your project
We will always ask before photographing your home for the projects section of this site, and we will never publish your address or full name without your written agreement. You can withdraw that permission at any time and we will remove the images.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call 1300 000 000 or email office@example.com.au and we will sort it out.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your information, tell us first and we will try to put it right. If you are not satisfied you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
